Build a timetable draft and pre-flight checks

If you use Timetable (E10), you can access its help articles here

Introduction

When you open Timetable builder, the system runs automated pre-flight checks to identify missing or invalid setup data (for example, a subject with no eligible teacher or room).

You can check the Pending tasks list and fix set up issues before generating a timetable. Return to Timetable builder to check there are no more pending tasks.

Run and fix issues using pre-flight checks

When you have set up school year, periods, rooms, students & groups, staff and classes in a timetable draft, go to Timetable builder:

  • Timetable builder automatically runs pre-flight checks to find missing or issues in the set up data (for example, a subject without an eligible teacher or room).
  • Review Pending tasks. Each task explains what needs to be fixed and how to resolve it before a timetable can be generated.

Fix issues listed in Pending tasks

  • Open the relevant setup area from the left-hand menu (for example, Rooms, Students & Groups, Staff, or Classes & Subjects).
  • Select Actions > Edit, make the required changes, then return to Timetable builder to confirm the Pending tasks list is clear.

Note: If tasks remain after you make changes, refresh Timetable builder and re-check the list.
