Generation failed pre-checks

• Review the on-screen list and fix items where indicated:

̵ No eligible room for a subject > update Rooms to permit the subject

̵ No teacher can teach a subject / insufficient availability > update Staff

subjects or PPA

̵ Class not uniquely named / fixed slot conflict > correct in Classes

̵ Period structure too tight > adjust My school year


A fixed class won’t place

• Confirm the fixed slot exists as a teaching period

• Ensure at least one eligible teacher and room is available at that time

• If you need multiple fixed lessons, create separate class records (unique names)


A lesson keeps moving when I re-run

• Lock it before you click Run again 


The timetable looks sparse in one area

• Check subject–room permissions; you may have over constrained specialist

rooms


Glossary

• MIS: your School Management Information System

• Teaching period: any period not marked as break, lunch or registration

• PPA: Planning, Preparation and Assessment time (non-teaching allocation)

• Fixed class: a class pinned to a specific day/time

• Clone: duplicates a timetable and its linked resources so you can safely test

changes
