Teacher cover can be quickly created and managed directly within the published timetable. This feature allows you to assign cover for planned or unplanned teacher absences, update allocations at any time, and monitor cover status to ensure classes are appropriately staffed.
Managing Teacher Cover
Teacher cover is managed directly from the published timetable, making it easy to create, update, and track cover arrangements as needed.
How to Set Up Teacher Cover
Follow the steps below to create a teacher cover allocation:
- From the top menu, select Covers to open the Teacher cover page.
- Click Create teacher cover.
- Choose the covering teacher from the drop‑down list.
- Select the dates the teacher will be away.
- Specify the required time:
- Choose a specific time, or
- Select All day if full‑day cover is required.
- Click Assign teachers to create the cover.
Editing and Updating Cover
Teacher cover does not need to be allocated all at once. You can return to the Teacher cover page at any time to complete, update, or adjust cover allocations.
Next to each teacher’s name, use the Actions menu (three dots) to:
- View existing cover
- Edit cover details
- Add additional cover where required
Once cover has been allocated, its status will automatically update. You can use the Cover status filter to view:
- Active cover
- Upcoming cover
- Completed cover
Important Notes
- All teachers are available for cover, allowing classes to be merged if necessary.
- Teacher availability should always be checked to avoid timetable clashes or conflicts.
